Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has denied allegations that he was seen brandishing a firearm in a video currently circulating on social media.

In a statement issued via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Adefarasin clarified that the object in question was not a firearm and categorically stated that he did not point any such object at anyone.

“You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you of this — that, that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone,” he wrote.

While expressing appreciation for the concern and understanding of his followers, the respected cleric described the incident as a “mischief,” adding that the matter would be briefly addressed during the church’s 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday.

“We understand the concern that this accusation may have caused, and we will speak briefly to this mischief during the 9:00 am service tomorrow,” he said.

Pastor Adefarasin’s reaction comes amid rising public attention over the content of the viral clip. The controversy has sparked debates across social media platforms, with many calling for clarity on the object in question and the circumstances surrounding the video.

The preacher assured his followers that he remains focused on his calling and encouraged them to remain grounded in faith.

“Trusting that this meets you well, winning and on top of the tests of life,” his statement opened warmly, in a tone consistent with his pastoral voice.

As anticipation builds for Sunday’s service, members and observers alike await his further clarification.
