The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a public alert warning against the activities of fraudsters impersonating its officials and soliciting money under false pretences.

In a statement released on Monday by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL. disclosed that certain individuals and companies are claiming to represent the company and are demanding fees from unsuspecting persons—particularly foreign investors—for meetings with the corporation’s board of directors and senior executives.

“These actions are completely unauthorised and illegal,” the company stated, stressing that no genuine engagement with NNPC requires payment for access to its leadership.

The state-owned oil company advised both local and international business entities to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to these scams.
