Super Falcons prolific attacker, Rasheedat Ajibade has revealed when she would announce her new club.
Ajibade will decide where she will play next after the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held in Morocco in July.
Ajibade’s contract at Atletico Madrid will expire at the end of June and the player and the club have agreed not to renew.
The attacker has spent four years with the club and played her last match for them against Barcelona few weeks ago.
The 25-year-old attacker has received an offer from a team in the United States, in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
However, she has put all transfer talks on hold so she can fully focus on helping the Super Falcons of Nigeria during the tournament.
Ajibade is one of the key players expected to lead Nigeria as they try to win a record 10th WAFCON title.
The team, coached by Justine Madugu, is drawn Group B alongside Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria.
Fans across Nigeria are hoping she can guide the team to victory before starting a new chapter in her football journey.
It would be recalled that Ajibade cored a brace for Super Falcons against the Lionesses of Cameroon in a WAFCON preparatory match in Abeokuta few days ago.
Super Falcons win the match by 2-0 and are now in top gear for the forthcoming WAFCON in Morocco.
Super Falcons finished third at the last WAFCON hosted by Morocco.
