Deacon Famous apologizes to Veekee James over offensive joke

Popular skit maker, Deacon Famous, has caused a stir on social media after publicly apologizing to celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James, during her glamorous 30th birthday celebration.

The apology stemmed from a controversial joke he made shortly after Veekee’s high-profile 2024 wedding to Femi Atere — a joke many deemed distasteful and insensitive at the time.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Deacon Famous admitted his fault, describing the remark as “dark humor” gone wrong.

“I know I wronged you… Nothing bad was intended but I have come to realize the impact of my mistake and I apologize again,” he wrote.
