Former Nigeria’s Vice- President, Yemi Osinbajo has raised alarm about activities of some fraudsters using him to advertise their products in AI generated videos on social media platforms.
Mohammed Braimah, a media aide in the office of the former Vice President raised the alarm in a statement he issued on Thursday while disowning the fraudulent advertisements.
One of the AI generated videos featured Osinbajo being used to advertise hypertension medications.
The other video featured the former AI-generated voiceover of Osinbajo announcing a fraudulent Money-Making Scheme.

However, the office warned the public to beware of the advertisements and the claims in them as Osinbajo have nothing to do with them.
“We reiterate that these videos are fraudulent and not endorsed by or affiliated with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. We urge the general public to remain cautious and always verify the authenticity of products and services before making any decisions concerning them,” the Office said.

It has come to our attention that the image of the immediate past Vice President, His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, is being used in AI-generated videos to fraudulently promote products and services that are not endorsed, supported by or affiliated with him in any form whatsoever. Specifically, one video features an image of him advertising hypertension medications, while the other also features an AI-generated voiceover announcing a fraudulent Money-Making Scheme.
We reiterate that these videos are fraudulent and not endorsed by or affiliated with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. We urge the general public to remain cautious and always verify the authenticity of products and services before making any decisions concerning them.
