The First lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to join hands to completely erase child labor in the country.

While addressing the country on Thursday to commemorate Democracy Day, Sen. Oluremi stated that child labor robs children of their future.

“Let us speed up efforts to end child labour in all ramifications by strengthening our laws. By supporting families, and investing in quality education for every child,” she said.

Sen. Oluremi also emphasized the need for children to have an education, stating that child labor is unacceptable.

“Today, we raise our voices for millions of children whose dreams are stolen by the harsh reality of child labour,” she said.

The first lady also urged the nation to work hand-in-hand in hand to eradicate child labor. She called on law enforcement educational sector and financial institutions to join the fight.

“I urge us to work towards building a country where every child is free to thrive. To dream, and reach their God-given potential,” she said.
