Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for honouring him and several others for their roles in the struggle for Nigeria’s democracy.
Onanuga was conferred with the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Tinubu on Thursday for his role in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.
In a message shared via his official X account, Onanuga acknowledged the national recognition bestowed on him and his colleagues who, in his words, “braved the odds and the guns” in the campaign to restore democracy and reverse the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for the national honours for me and many of my colleagues,” he wrote.
“I am grateful for the recognition and will continue to serve my country in the best way I know,” he added.
