Solomon Buchi blasts BET awards for naming GloRilla Best Gospel Artist

Solomon Buchi has taken a swipe at the organizers of the BET Awards after American rapper and songwriter, GloRilla, was named the Best Gospel Artist at the recently held ceremony.

The award, which stirred reactions over the weekend, saw GloRilla, who is widely known for her secular rap music, clinch the highly coveted gospel category award.

In a video reaction, Buchi criticized the decision, insisting that collaborating with a gospel artiste does not automatically qualify GloRilla as a gospel singer.

He argued that the rapper’s lifestyle and image are inconsistent with the gospel genre.

“So naked, profane-singing, seductively pop stars are now winning gospel awards?” Buchi questioned. “Shame on all involved to make this happen. Again, gospel industry is a scam. It became a scam ever since it stopped being ministry.”
