Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has issued a public service announcement addressing those who frequently request financial assistance from her.
Taking to her Instagram story, the award-winning Afrobeat singer revealed that she, too, is feeling the pinch of the harsh economic realities in the country.
The mother of one noted that, as a single parent, she works tirelessly to meet her financial obligations.
“Because even me sef, the economy don show me shege. I am a single mother abeg, I dey hustle night and day. May God bless us all,” Tiwa wrote.
Earlier this year, the All Over crooner made headlines when she shared a daring video of herself swimming underwater with sharks, ticking off an item on her bucket list. In the video, Tiwa appeared at ease under the water, wearing an oxygen mask as she moved alongside the marine creatures.
The stunt, however, raised concerns among some of her fans who feared for her safety. Responding to the worries, Tiwa highlighted the risks she faces within the music industry, suggesting it poses even greater dangers than swimming with sharks. “People are worried about me swimming with sharks, but there are more dangerous people in this music industry,” she remarked.
In a separate post, Tiwa expressed her unwavering faith, stating, “I can never worry when God is the one who watches over me.”
Last year, Tiwa Savage also addressed criticism surrounding her alleged lack of support for fellow female artists. In a brief Instagram rant, she dismissed the claims, challenging critics to name any female artist with more collaborations than she has. She backed her statement by sharing clips of her collaborations with top female artists such as Waje, Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Becca, and Simi.
