“This is not your plan B!” DJ Big N blasts new DJs

Popular Nigerian disc jockey Nonso Temisan Ajufo, widely known as DJ Big N, has issued a strong warning to aspiring DJs entering the industry without genuine passion or commitment to the craft.

Taking to his Instagram page, the Mavin Records official DJ expressed concern over the growing number of individuals treating DJing as a casual fallback option rather than a serious profession driven by a deep love for music.

“Everybody now wants to be a DJ. It’s not an escape route, it’s not a plan B. If you don’t have deep love for music, you will be a flash in the pan,” DJ Big N wrote.

He went further to call out DJs who limit themselves to trending genres, particularly the currently dominant Amapiano sound. “Yeah I’m talking to those DJs who think the only music out there is Amapiano. Build your crates,” he added, emphasizing the importance of versatility and knowledge of diverse music catalogs.
