Israel has formally called on the United States to join its escalating conflict with Iran.
This was made known on Saturday by Spectacular Index via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating: “Israel officially requests the US join the ongoing campaign against Iran.”
The request comes amid rapidly intensifying hostilities between the two nations. In the past 48 hours, tensions have soared following a series of missile exchanges.
On Friday, Iran launched ballistic missiles targeting major Israeli cities in retaliation for Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) strikes on Iran’s nuclear facility.
In response, Israel reportedly carried out a retaliatory strike on Tehran, with some sources quoting Israeli officials threatening to “burn down” the city.
Additionally, The Times of Israel reported that U.S. President Donald Trump recently informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the United States’ willingness to consider striking Iran’s underground Fordo nuclear facility if such action becomes necessary to prevent Iran from acquiringnuclear weapons.
