Patrick Doyle opens up on why Ireti Doyle kept his last name

Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has claimed that his ex-wife, Ireti Doyle did not change her last name after their separation because of his popularity.

In an interview with The Muvment studio on Saturday, Patrick revealed that he knew fame long before his ex-wife did.

Patrick stated that he became a star since he was 16-years-old and that his level of success can not be defined or tied to anyone.

“I have been popular since I was 16. How long has she been around? I have been around for 45 years and I’m still around. I was a superstar at the age of 16; a champion debater. I debated against Yemi Osinbajo,” he said.

He also questioned Ireti’s decision to keep his last name, stating that the Doyle name is far too popular.

“I can never be defined by her. My body of work is too solid to be defined by any human being living or dead. Why is the name Doyle popular? Why didn’t she revert and change name at the end of the marriage?,” he said.
