A two-storey building under construction have collapsed on Monday, during the decking process at Craig Street, Shomolu, Lagos.
The collapsed structure is said to be one of the two buildings being constructed at the site.
As of the time of filing this report, the major cause of the incident is yet to be fully ascertained.
The pillars of the collapsed building fell on a nearby church which was partially affected and miraculously, no life was lost and no injuries sustained as worshippers in the church also escaped unscathed.
Coordinated search of the incident scene was conducted to ensure no victim was trapped under the collapsed building.
The construction yard has been cordoned off immediately and public enlightenment and sensitisation was carried out by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA.
