Men arrested for open urination in Lagos

Fourteen individuals were arrested on Monday for engaging in open defecation and urination in the Agege and Alimosho areas of Lagos State.

The arrests were made during an enforcement operation carried out by operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI/LAGESC), with the backing of a sister paramilitary agency.

Among those apprehended are men ranging in age from 20 to 55 years, including Friday Samuel (49), Sulaimon Olalekan (54), Idris Jimoh (45), Alao Babatunde (54), Chinonso Dominic (21), Akeem Suraju (42), Lawal Idris (29), Oluwatobi Adebayo (30), Ismaila Adeyemi (35), Murtala Jamilu (20), Samson Memudia (54), Jamilu Abdullahi (29), and Ganiyu Akeem (55).

According to the authorities, all arrested individuals will be prosecuted in accordance with the State’s Environmental Sanitation Laws.

The operation underscores the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to promoting public hygiene and achieving a cleaner, healthier environment under its #CleanerLagos campaign.
