What Simi said about seeking validation

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, also known as Simi, has spoken against seeking external validation and living for the approval of others.

The singer took to her X page on Wednesday to advise against seeking external validation.

While stressing the importance of self love and kindness, Simi stated that people should live for God.

“Don’t live for the love of people. It’s fickle… Live for truth. Be kind. Be honest. Live for God,” she wrote.

The singer also reminded her fans how fickle peoples memory is. She stated that it is harmful to bask in external love for long and neglecting self love.

“And when people do show you love en-masse, don’t bask in it too long. You MAY acknowledge it – but keep it moving. Because people forget. And if you forget that, you will suffer,” she said
