How Adekunle Gold celebrated world Sickle Cell day

Award-winning Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has launched an initiative targeted towards helping sickle cell warriors, as a way to mark world sickle cell day.

Adekunle explained that the initiative named ‘5 star care’, was created to ease the burden of 1000 people living with sickle cell.

He revealed that the initiative will provide free health insurance to sickle cell warriors.

Adekunle, a former sickle cell warrior, explained that he fully understands how strenuous and heavy the weight of managing sickle cell can be.

The singer partnered up with Lagos State ministry of Health and the sickle cell management initiative.

“5 Star Care isn’t just an initiative, it’s a promise. A promise to ensure that sickle cell warriors are seen, heard, and cared for. We’re starting small by providing free health insurance to 1,000 people living with sickle cell in Lagos State. But this is only the beginning,” he said.
