Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has been discharged from hospital and has returned to the club’s training facility, the Spanish side confirmed on Friday.

Mbappé was hospitalised in the United States on Wednesday after being diagnosed with a severe case of gastroenteritis.

The illness ruled him out of Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup clash against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, which ended in a 1–1 draw — sparking concerns over his health.

In a statement published on the club’s official website, Real Madrid addressed the situation, saying:

“Our player Kylian Mbappé is suffering from an acute case of gastroenteritis and has been admitted to hospital in order to undergo a series of tests and follow the appropriate course of treatment.”

Following two days of monitoring and medical care, the 26-year-old French international has now been discharged.

The club confirmed that he has returned to the Valdebebas training complex and will continue treatment under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

Kylian Mbappé was discharged from hospital this afternoon and has returned to the Real Madrid training complex,” the club announced.

“Mbappé will continue with specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activity.”

No official timeline has been given for his full return to action, but club sources suggest a cautious approach will be taken to ensure his complete recovery ahead of Madrid’s next fixtures.

Mbappé, who recently joined Real Madrid in a high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain, is expected to be a central figure in the team’s pursuit of silverware this season.
