Nigerian Chess player and Guiness record holder, Tunde Onokoya has opened up on why he desires influence and affluence.
While speaking with the Afropolitan podcast on Thursday, Tunde stated that although he does not want to be classified only by his roles, he desires influence.
He explained that his desire for wealth is to fulfil his dream of supporting helpless children.
“I want to be a billionaire. And I mean that. I’ve always been afraid to say that. I just don’t want to be known as just the chess in slums guy. The charity guy. I want to make a lot of money. And I also want to have a lot of power. With that power comes new responsibility. And my responsibility and duty will always be to the children,” he said.
Tunde is currently the founder of Chess in Slums, an organization created to intervene on behalf of children living in slums without formal education.
