The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned and threatened to prosecute its personnel found to be involved inĀ bribery and other forms of unethical practices.
The warning was issued by the new Zonal Commanding Officer of FRSC Zone RS12HQ, Assistant Corps Marshal Yakubu Mohammad, who emphasised that measures are in place to apprehend and sanction any personnel who compromise their duties.
Mohammad stated that both those who offer bribes and those who accept them would face prosecution in accordance with the FRSC’s extant laws. He called on road users to cooperate with FRSC personnel and prioritise safety by complying with traffic rules and regulations.
The FRSC boss urged motorists to avoid overloading, speeding, and dangerous driving behaviors, and to refrain from using rickety vehicles. He also emphasised the importance of public education, rescue of road traffic victims, and strict enforcement of traffic regulations.
New Initiatives
Mohammad assured the public that the FRSC is committed to responding promptly to rescue operations and will work collaboratively with stakeholders and sister security agencies to promote a safe road culture. He also advised drivers to install and use the FRSC App to regulate their speed and check their eyesight and blood pressure regularly.
