The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise will take place on Saturday, 28th June 2025.

According to a statement released by the examination body, a total of 96,838 candidates are expected to sit for the rescheduled exam, which aims to accommodate those who encountered various challenges during the main UTME and resit phases.

“Among those eligible are 5,096 spillover candidates and individuals who were unable to complete the biometric verification process during the initial examination window.

“In addition, 91,742 candidates who were absent during either the main or the resit UTME have been granted a special concession to participate in this final opportunity for 2025,” it said.

JAMB said the mop-up exam would be conducted in 183 centres across the country, while a number of additional candidates would be placed on standby in the event of further accommodations.

The body advised candidates to begin printing their examination notification slips from Monday, 23rd June 2025, to confirm their assigned centres, dates, and times for the test.

JAMB reiterated that this mop-up opportunity applied exclusively to the 2025 UTME cycle, and urged all affected candidates to take full advantage of the window provided.

The Board further emphasised the importance of arriving early at designated centres and complying strictly with all examination protocols, especially biometric verification and identity confirmation, to ensure a smooth and fair exercise.
