The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has denied claims that the Federal Government has abandoned Nigerian citizens in Iran.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by the ministry’s spokesperson, Mr. Kimiebi Ebienfa, Tuggar described the reports circulating on social media as false and misleading.

He clarified that the Nigerian Embassy in Tehran is still functioning and remains committed to the safety and welfare of all Nigerians living in Iran.

However, due to ongoing tensions and frequent bombings in the city, regular office operations have been affected. As a result, embassy staff are currently working remotely.
