It was a night of soaring vocals, electrifying choreography, and emotional highs on Nigerian Idol Season 10, as the show unveiled its top 5 contestants and said goodbye to Kristopher in a tense elimination round.
The evening opened with a dazzling group performance of Ric Hassani’s “Moving Train (Isokuso),” setting an energetic tone.
Host IK Osakioduwa kept the energy high, introducing the returning panel of judges—Ric Hassani, Iyanya, and Omawumi—alongside special guest judge, renowned dancer and choreographer Dr. Kaffy, who brought a fresh lens and high expectations to the stage.
As the suspenseful elimination segment unfolded, Mikki, Lawrence, Purp, and Raymu were all declared safe, leaving Kristopher and Brammy in the bottom two. With emotions running high, Kristopher was eventually announced as the contestant exiting the competition. In his farewell speech, he remained gracious and hopeful: “I’m grateful for the whole experience. I stayed true to my artistry throughout, and it doesn’t end here for me.”
Top 5 Performances That Brought the House Down
Mikki – “Spirit” by Beyoncé
Opening the night with power and grace, Mikki delivered a commanding performance, combining vocal strength with bold choreography. Ric Hassani praised him, saying, “This song is called ‘Spirit,’ and we all felt your spirit. That was fantastic.”
Raymu – “Titanium” by Sia
Raymu stunned with vocal control and emotional intensity, delivering one of his strongest performances to date. His seamless choreography and dynamic presence earned applause from all four judges.
Lawrence – “Black or White” by Michael Jackson
Channelling the King of Pop’s charisma, Lawrence dazzled with a thrilling performance full of energy and range. The judges were impressed by his versatility and confident stage command.
Purp – “Respect” by Aretha Franklin
With poise and power, Purp honoured the Queen of Soul. Her performance was theatrical, vocally rich, and technically strong. Kaffy said, “I’m proud of you, Purp,” while Ric described it as “absolutely flawless.”
Brammy – “Yeah 3x” by Chris Brown
Brammy exploded onto the stage with high-energy dance routines, crisp vocals, and crowd-pleasing stunts. His showmanship and stamina earned a standing ovation and unanimous praise from the judges.
As the show closed, IK gave a special shoutout to Dr. Kaffy for her impactful mentorship and the judges for guiding the contestants through their artistic journeys. The judges commended the Top 5 for evolving into full-fledged performers, not just singers.
