Award-winning Nigerian music star Ayra Starr is making her big-screen debut in the Hollywood adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, the critically acclaimed fantasy novel by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi.

In an exclusive interview with CBS Mornings, Ayra Starr revealed the transition from music to acting has been both challenging and eye-opening.
“My first movie ever. I’m used to being a singer and being a diva on set, but with this one — in a movie — it’s not about you. You have to be on set on time,” she said, reflecting on the new level of discipline required on a film set.
Children of Blood and Bone, the first in a fantasy trilogy inspired by West African mythology, follows the journey of a young girl fighting to restore magic to her homeland.
