Controversial Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stirred controversy in the hip-hop industry with a statement about his hit track Declan Rice.
In an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, the outspoken artiste slammed critics who question his rap credentials, stating that their disapproval draws from intimidation over his rise to fame.
He claimed that Declan Rice, his 2023 breakthrough single, is the most culturally impactful Nigerian hip-hop song in the world, citing its use by English football club Arsenal to announce their record signing of midfielder Declan Rice.
“In the history of Nigerian hip-hop, no Nigerian song has had more impact in the world like Declan Rice. It is the biggest digital asset ever on Arsenal’s social media. Check it,” he stated.
Odumodublvck also referenced his recent collaborative work Good Devil Wells White with Larry G, stating that his artistry spans multiple languages and styles including English, Patois, and vernacular.
“Which rap line has more cultural impact than my line in Cast? What metrics are we using? But they said I’m not a rapper. That’s a fallacy. That’s ungrateful. And God will punish all of them,” he said.
