President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, celebrated today, June 25, 2025.

Describing the Lagos helmsman as a dedicated public servant and visionary leader, President Tinubu reflected on Sanwo-Olu’s political journey, which began under his mentorship and has since spanned decades of impactful governance.

The President recalled Sanwo-Olu’s previous leadership roles, including his tenure as Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation and his service as Commissioner in Economic Planning and Budget; Commerce and Industry; and Establishments, Training and Pensions.

Applauding his consistent dedication to state development, President Tinubu noted that Sanwo-Olu’s administration remains deeply rooted in the strategic foundation laid during his own time as governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Blue and Red Rail lines and the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line, which will serve the vital Lekki corridor,” President Tinubu stated.

He urged the governor to sustain the momentum of infrastructural transformation by prioritising other critical legacy projects that will significantly benefit residents.

“I urge you to sustain this trajectory by prioritising impactful projects for Lagosians, notably the long-awaited Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road,” he said.

Concluding his message, the President offered his best wishes to Sanwo-Olu: “I also wish you continued good health, longevity, and many more years of invaluable service to Lagos State and Nigeria.”
