Katsina state Governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, has reaffirmed his commitment to keep serving Katsina people, as he dismissed rumours making the rounds that he was being tipped to serve as Vice Presidential candidate in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term ambition.

Radda stated this while distributing relief materials to victims of banditry during his visit to Dutsin-Ma.

Radda openly disassociated himself from circulating rumors about his alleged vice presidential ambition, declaring that his singular focus remains serving the people of Katsina state.

Speaking during a working visit to the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, Governor Radda addressed the political speculation, saying, “I have seen posters and messages suggesting I am pursuing another office. Let me be clear: I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus.

“I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfill the trust you have placed in me.”

During the well-attended gathering, Governor Radda supervised the distribution of 600 bags of maize and ₦5,000 cash to each victim of insecurity.

He praised the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum for organizing the compassion-driven initiative.

“Today demonstrates our shared values—caring for one another and standing together through tough times. This gesture is rooted in empathy and humanity,” Radda said.

The Governor acknowledged Aminu Dan Arewa, Member of the House of Representatives for Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma, who contributed ₦6 million for additional victims’ support.

“This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs—one that leads with action, not just promises,” Governor Radda stated.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, the Governor said: “Security remains our topmost priority. We are working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina. We will never make promises we can’t keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.”

Responding to community concerns, Governor Radda announced plans to extend the waterway project from Dutsin-Ma to Charanchi and other nearby areas.

Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, praised the Governor’s humility and responsiveness, noting that their endorsement was performance-based.

“Your presence here today speaks volumes. You chose to come in person, and that shows the kind of leader you are,” Liadi said.

The Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area, Kabir Abdussalam Shema, described Governor Radda as compassionate and courageous.

“Without hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results,” he said.

While appreciating the second-term endorsement, Governor Radda said: “If it is the will of Allah and good for the people, it shall be—but if not, I pray for Allah to guide us to something even better.”

The event attracted state Assembly members, traditional and religious leaders, youth and women groups, and hundreds of residents who benefited from the relief support.
