Norway Crown Princess’ son, Marius Høiby, faces multiple assault charges
Marius Borg Høiby, the 28-year-old son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been charged with several counts of rape and sexual assault involving what authorities describe as a “double-digit number” of alleged victims.
The Oslo Police disclosed that the charges stem from multiple reports and arrests carried out in 2024 after several individuals came forward.
Police attorney Andreas Kruszewski confirmed the volume of the allegations, stating:
“I cannot go into further detail about the number of victims beyond confirming that it is a double-digit number.”
Høiby, who once enjoyed a high public profile in Norway and was nicknamed “Little Marius,” is now facing serious legal trouble. The charges against him include:
- One count of rape involving intercourse
- Two counts of rape without intercourse
- Four counts of sexual assault
- Two counts of bodily harm
The accused, known for past struggles with cocaine addiction, is reportedly cooperating with investigators. His lawyer, Petar Sekulic, said:
“He is absolutely taking the accusations very seriously… but he doesn’t acknowledge any wrongdoing in most of the cases — especially those regarding sexual abuse and violence.”
Though he lived with the Crown Princess, Crown Prince Haakon, and their children — Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus — Marius Høiby now resides in a separate home near the royal family.
The palace has refused to comment, maintaining that the legal process must be allowed to run its course.
Høiby’s biological father, Morten Borg, has a criminal history that includes time in prison for drug and violent offenses.
Despite the weight of the charges, Høiby remains free while awaiting possible trial.
