The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a change in venue for its Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting after police officers surrounded its national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja.

The party said the meeting, initially scheduled for 10am at the secretariat, will now hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in the Central Business District.

“Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees, BoT, meeting. The meeting of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, earlier scheduled to hold by 10a.m., at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has been moved to Yar’Adua Center, Central Business District, Abuja.

“All BoT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue,” PDP announced.

The PDP also condemned the presence of armed policemen at the secretariat and urged BoT members to proceed to the new venue for the meeting.

As of press time, the reason behind the police presence at Wadata Plaza remains unclear.
