Barau, Ganduje arrive in Madina for Dantata’s burial

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to attend the burial of elder statesman and businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

The Nigerian delegation touched down at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport around 5:15 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Dantata, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 94, will be buried later today in accordance with Islamic rites.

Other dignitaries on the trip include Kano APC Chairman Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Senator Muntari Dandutse, who chairs the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND; and Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ali Madaki.

Also in attendance are Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Hon. Sani Bala, Usman Kansila, and Ahmad Dantata, son of the deceased.

The death of Aminu Dantata was confirmed in a Facebook post by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid.

“It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata,” the statement read.
