Real Madrid secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Juventus, advancing to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States on Tuesday.

A second-half header from young star Gonzalo Garcia did the magic. The match was a display of high-intensity football, with both sides creating numerous chances but Madrid’s clinical finishing and defensive resilience proving the difference.

The opening 45 minutes saw both teams probing cautiously, with possession swinging back and forth.

Madrid responded through Federico Valverde, whose 9th minute effort from the edge of the box narrowly missed the target.

Both defenses stood firm, with goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois and Michele Di Gregorio called into action early.

The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold, Madrid’s creative linchpin, delivered a pinpoint cross into the box. Garcia rose highest, outmuscling his marker to plant a header into the top corner, leaving Di Gregorio with no chance.
