Sanwo-Olu urges members to make President Bola Tinubu and the APC proud by ensuring overwhelming victories across the councils
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on residents to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the upcoming local government elections.
The government emphasised that their victory is essential for sustained development across the state.
Speaking at an APC Lagos West I campaign rally at Ifako Ijaiye Stadium in Agege on Thursday, the governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, underscored the election’s importance for advancing grassroots progress and maintaining continuity in governance.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the APC’s achievements, including road construction, hospitals, schools, and people-focused initiatives, urging party supporters to promote these accomplishments while canvassing votes.
He stressed the party’s commitment to delivering for Lagosians, citing ongoing projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that promise long-term benefits.
The governor called for a sweeping victory across all 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, asserting that the APC remains the only party truly dedicated to citizens’ welfare.
Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, echoed the governor’s call, urging party members to mobilize neighbors, friends, and relatives to secure Permanent Voters Cards and support APC candidates.
He dismissed detractors as “enemies of progress” lacking a genuine vision, pointing to Lagos’s unmatched development in schools, health centers, and bridges as evidence of the party’s success.
Obasa credited President Tinubu for enabling the creation of 37 additional Local Council Development Areas, which have spurred further growth, and expressed hope that incoming local chairmen would build on these achievements.
Obasa encouraged a robust door-to-door campaign to promote APC candidates, framing the vote as an investment in improved education, healthcare, infrastructure, and prosperity at the grassroots level.
He emphasized the need for Lagosians to trust the party’s vision and its carefully selected candidates.
House of Representatives member for Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon. James Faleke, also spoke at the rally, advocating for continuity given the state’s infrastructural advancements and the strong performance of outgoing local chairmen.
He urged supporters to remain peaceful despite potential provocations on election day, assuring them that casting votes for APC candidates would secure victory.
