The gesture was warmly received by the Education Secretary of Ikorodu Local Government, Mr. Odumbo Abiodun, who commended the club for its support towards improving the educational environment in the state.

In a move aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and healthier learning environments, the Eko Centennial Lions Club has donated first aid boxes and waste bins to five primary schools in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The beneficiary schools are Methodist Primary School, Oga Primary School, Ayangburen Primary School, Muslim Primary School, and African Bethel Primary School.

The donation forms part of the club’s activities to mark the beginning of the new Lions service year, which commenced on July 1.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, President of the Eko Centennial Lions Club, Lion Kehinde Mustapha, stressed the importance of creating safe, clean, and health-conscious spaces for children to learn and grow.

She said the project aligns with Lions Clubs International’s global commitment to environmental protection and public health.

“As we begin a new Lions year, we are focusing on projects that directly impact the well-being of our communities,” Mustapha said.

“By providing waste bins, we’re encouraging proper hygiene and environmental care among pupils. The first aid boxes, on the other hand, will help improve emergency response in cases of minor injuries at school.”

Echoing her sentiments, the club’s secretary, Lion Mufutau Oladele, urged well-meaning Nigerians to support charitable causes through platforms like the Lions Club.

He encouraged more people to join the organisation in making life better for the underprivileged.

The gesture was warmly received by the Education Secretary of Ikorodu Local Government, Mr. Odumbo Abiodun, who commended the club for its support towards improving the educational environment in the state.

“We sincerely appreciate Eko Centennial Lions Club for this act of generosity,” Abiodun said.

“Giving, even when you don’t have much, shows true compassion for humanity. What you have demonstrated today is not just charity, but passion for making lives better. You’ve shown that it doesn’t take millions to make a difference.”

He added that the donated items would be put to good use, assuring the club of proper maintenance and implementation.

“We hope to see more from you in the future. And who knows? I may just become a member too, this is exactly the kind of initiative I enjoy being part of,” he said.
