Russia bombards Ukraine with 550 drones, largest missiles in one night
Russia has launched a brutal overnight attack on Ukraine, firing 550 drones and missiles in its biggest strike since the war began.
Ukraine’s Air Force said 539 drones and 11 missiles were unleashed across several cities late Thursday. 268 drones and 2 missiles were shot down by air defence units.
“This is the largest number the enemy has ever used in a single attack,” said Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat.
The record attack comes as peace talks with the US stall and Russia intensifies its aerial assault.
The full damage is still being assessed, but Kyiv says this marks a dangerous new phase in the war.
