Asa Asika, the manager to popular Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido, has weighed in on the topic of a possible collaboration between Davido and Wizkid.
Asika who has worked with Davido for years claimed that a collaboration will impact Afrobeats greatly.
While speaking on the Afropolitan podcast, Asika said that a joint project will increase global sales and would elevate the genre.
“Our genre would’ve being bigger if Wizkid, Davido and everybody who was popping at that point were all collaborating, I might be wrong but the probability of our genre being bigger and more successful even stronger in terms of ticket values and shows being stronger will be a thing,” he said.
This statement from the manager came as a surprise. It has sparked a debate of the artists individual impact of the growth of Afrobeat.
