"All this fantasy of coalition... in the next six months, that coalition thing will not even be a conversation, they will scatter," he added.

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has expressed doubts about former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s chances of ever becoming President of Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, Bwala said that Atiku may not have been destined to become President, given his past failed attempts to win the presidency.

Bwala, who was a spokesperson for Atiku’s 2023 presidential campaign but switched loyalty to President Bola Tinubu months ago, dismissed the chances of Atiku and other opposition coalition leaders, such as Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

“2023 was the biggest opportunity that my former principal Atiku Abubakar had. He will never have that kind of privilege again,” Bwala said.

Bwala also criticized the opposition coalition, saying that they have failed to present alternative policies that could convince Nigerians to vote for them.

“What I still find intriguing is that this coalition of internally displaced politicians have not been able to summon the courage and come up with alternative facts, alternative policies or alternative programmes,” he said.

Furthermore, Bwala predicted that the coalition will not last beyond six months, citing the struggle for who will be the flagbearer under the newly adopted African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a major factor.

“All this fantasy of coalition… in the next six months, that coalition thing will not even be a conversation, they will scatter,” he added.
