PSG humiliate Real Madrid 4-0, set up Club World Cup final clash with Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have blown Real Madrid to shreds with a ruthless 4-0 demolition to book their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea.
It was a nightmare evening for Kylian Mbappe, who watched helplessly as his former team, now Champions League winners danced around a clueless Madrid side he joined just last summer. The Frenchman’s move to Los Blancos was meant to be the final piece in their European puzzle, but instead, it’s PSG who are rewriting history.
Fabián Ruiz opened the floodgates as early as the 6th minute before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the lead just three minutes later. Ruiz bagged his second in the 24th minute to silence the Madrid end completely. Gonçalo Ramos then put the final nail in the coffin in the 87th with a slick pirouette and finish past a stunned Thibaut Courtois.
Mbappe, who once led PSG’s frontline, was left isolated and ineffective for Madrid. The same team he abandoned has now won five straight knockout games with an aggregate score of 18-0.
Enrique: “We Want to Make History”
PSG boss Luis Enrique praised his players, especially Dembele, saying: “It’s too hot to play great football but we did just that. Dembele was fantastic. This team deserves everything.”
With the win, PSG continue their historic season — Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, Champions League — and now they’re just 90 minutes away from their first-ever Club World Cup crown.
The match also marked the end of an era for Real Madrid. Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, two veterans of the club’s dominant European run, played their final games in white. Their contracts officially expired at full time — but not with the fairy-tale ending they would’ve hoped for.
All roads now lead to Sunday’s final against Chelsea, a team PSG haven’t faced since their bitter Champions League clashes between 2014 and 2016.
