The Governor of Osun state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has emphasised his administration’s support for the O-Meal school feeding program.
In a statement released on Thursday, the governor appealed to stakeholders and partners to support the program.
He spoke on the importance of improving the health of students through proper nutrition.
The program implemented in 2006 began as a partnership between the Osun State Government and the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development.
The governor also reaffirmed that a sustainable meal program is essential for learning for children.
“The sustainability of O-Meal provides an opportunity to invest in the lives of children, women, and others in the state. Every financial or technical contribution directly impacts children, fosters a more equitable society, and helps define a roadmap for sustainability and development,” he said.
The governor also expressed that the O-Meal program will scale up its efforts despite the current challenges of food inflation.
