In an Instagram post, Uriel revealed that she gave up her car and apartment in November 2024 to move to the UK for her mother’s medical care.

Former Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa has shared an emotional story about her struggles with homelessness upon returning to Lagos after caring for her sick mother in London.

In an Instagram post, Uriel revealed that she gave up her car and apartment in November 2024 to move to the UK for her mother’s medical care.

However, things changed abruptly in December when her brother encouraged her to return to Nigeria.

With no place to stay and no clear plan, Uriel found herself booking a shortlet apartment at ₦150,000 per day.

“I didn’t know how I was going to pay for it,” she admitted. “But somehow, I did.”

She explained that after two months, the shortlet owners gave her a discounted rate of ₦100,000 per day and even offered a full month free in May. During this time, her juice and meal plan business unexpectedly picked up, and she began earning enough to pay weekly.

“The shortlet owners never stressed me,” she wrote. “They gave me grace. That grace gave me room to breathe, to rebuild, and to bounce back.”

After six months of living in the shortlet, Uriel said she finally secured her own apartment again.
