Karim Adeyemi shuts down transfer rumours, stays put at Dortmund

German-Nigerian forward Karim Adeyemi has ruled out a summer move away from Borussia Dortmund, despite reported interest from top Italian sides.

The 23-year-old winger, who signed for Dortmund in 2022, is reportedly content with the club and will not be leaving this window. There are reportedly no talks or negotiations with any club this summer, as Adeyemi wishes to remain under the new manager Niko Kovač.

Italian clubs Napoli and Juventus were both keen on the energetic striker, Napoli having made a €50 million offer during the previous summer. Adeyemi refused the transfer, however, opting to stay at Dortmund.

Under Kovač, Adeyemi has regressed to his best form and confidence and has established himself as a first-team starter. He has a contract that expires in 2027, and already there are indications that he might even agree to sign a contract extension.

Sources say Adeyemi is “very comfortable” at Dortmund, and with Champions League football looming, the club regards him as a central figure in the future.

Adeyemi was instrumental last season, scoring goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League, such as a hat-trick against Celtic and one-man wonder against Chelsea.

Although he’s leaving his options open at present, sources close to him believe the club will rethink his future should they not make the Champions League next year. He’s currently valued at approximately €60 million.
