Police rescue 2 Gombe teenagers from kidnappers

Two teenagers identified as Murjah Isah and Musa also 16 abducted on June 24, 2025 in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State have been rescued after 16 days in captivity by the police after their abductors demanded for N8 million ransom.
The spokesperson for Gombe police command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi announced the rescue of the abducted persons in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the rescue of the two abducted teenagers was carried out by operatives of the Kwadon Police Division following a report of the kidnap.
Abdullahi said that the command received a distress report on Thursday about 1pm from one Alhaji Abdulrahman Rabiu of Daban Fulani area, Kwami Local Government Area, Gombe State.
He said that Rabiu reported that his daughter-in-law, Murjah Isah, 16 years, and his son, Musa also 16, were kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination since June 24, 2025.
According to the complainant, he had been contacted by the kidnappers who demanded ransom of N8 million and directed him to bring it to a location around Kalshingi Hills.
“Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer of Kwadon Division immediately swung into action, leading a team of operatives to the identified area.
“Through coordinated efforts, the two victims were successfully rescued unharmed.
“The victims were immediately taken to a medical facility for check-up, after which their statements were obtained.”
Abdullahi said that the rescued persons had been reunited with their family.
He said that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal investigation department for discreet investigation to ensure the arrest and prosecution of the culprits.
The spokesperson also said that 13 other suspects were arrested for various crimes in the state and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation. (NAN)
