Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has dismissed suggestions that he is a “loser” following PSG’s crushing 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final on Sunday.

The Spaniard addressed the media after the match, where Chelsea outclassed the French giants with two goals from Cole Palmer and a strike from Joao Felix, securing a dominant victory for Enzo Maresca’s side.

Responding to post-match criticism, Enrique said, “Loser? I’m not a loser. I’m a runner-up. There are no losers in top level football. A loser is someone who doesn’t wake up from his bed.”

Despite the final defeat, Enrique had an impressive season with PSG, leading the team to a historic treble, winning the UEFA Champions League, French Ligue 1 title, and the French Cup.

The French champions now shift their focus to the upcoming UEFA Super Cup final, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur on August 13.
