Reacting via a series of tweets, Pere extended condolences to Buhari’s family and acknowledged the former president's efforts during his tenure.

Reality TV star and actor Pere Egbi has expressed sadness over the passing of former Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, describing Sunday as a “sad day for Nigeria and Nigerians.”

Reacting via a series of tweets, Pere extended condolences to Buhari’s family and acknowledged the former president’s efforts during his tenure.

“You led Nigeria to the best of your ability,” he wrote. “While you weren’t a perfect man or leader… you gave your all to the country.”

Buhari, 82, passed away in London.

Pere, however, reserved harsh words for Nigerians rejoicing over Buhari’s death. “When death comes, you’re wiped clean off the earth. That’s why it’s useless to celebrate anyone’s death… they are now history, now being questioned by the Most High.”

The former BBNaija housemate added that no matter how a person lived or made others feel, celebrating their demise serves no purpose. “What exactly is your gain?” he asked those mocking Buhari’s passing.
