Famous British rapper Skepta has weighed in on the controversial debate between British and American rappers.
Skepta aired his opinion, stating that UK rappers have been underrated for long enough.
While speaking with Link UP TV, Skepta explained that his challenge with US rappers is them not respecting British rappers.
He claimed that UK rappers have what it takes to annihilate US rappers if it comes to it, but all they are demanding is just the respect they deserve.
“My challenge to US rappers was me saying it is time to get the respect we [UK rappers] deserve. It wasn’t from a place of we are going to annihilate them [US rappers] even though I feel that it is definitely possible. It is more of we want the respect,” he said.
Skepta’s opinion on the debate fuels Drake’s claim that UK rappers are the best in the rap game.
The Canadian singer and rapper said this during his performance at the Wireless Festival in London on Saturday.
