Why I don’t collect tithes – Prophet Odumeje

Controversial Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has stirred reactions online after publicly declaring that he does not collect tithes in his church.

During a recent sermon, the Anambra-based preacher addressed his congregation, stressing that he did not go into ministry for financial gain.

According to Odumeje, his primary mission is to prove to people that God is real — not to enrich himself.

“Look at a young fresh man like me. I’ll come here and be deceiving people? I no dey do church for money. Nobody pays me tithe,” he stated passionately. “I am doing church to prove to you that Christ is real. That is my mission. When I finish my job, I will leave the same way Prophet Emmanuel TB Joshua left.”
