Why I got BBL, fixed my teeth – Temitope Solaja

Nollywood actress Temitope Solaja has revealed the reasons behind her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery and dental procedures.

She emphasized that the move was entirely personal and had nothing to do with pleasing men or conforming to external pressures.

In an interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, Solaja disclosed that she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and fixed her teeth three years ago in the U.S. for self-confidence and to better align her body with her fashion preferences.

“I didn’t fix my body because of any man,” she stated. “I love fashion. I love to dress up. I had a big stomach and a small stature. My body didn’t align with my style. That’s why I did liposuction with BBL. I wanted to feel better in my own skin.”

According to Solaja, the changes have made her feel more beautiful and confident:

“I was beautiful before, but now I feel even more confident. People say I look good online and in person. I appreciate it.”

She also spoke about her dental work, saying, “I smile a lot. I wanted my smile to reflect how I feel inside.”

Solaja further addressed online criticism, particularly recalling a time when viewers mocked her for a grammar error in one of her films.

“I said ‘Why did you sold me out?’ instead of ‘Why did you sell me out?’” she recalled. “It hurt because we forgive people who make mistakes in Yoruba, but drag those who mess up in English. And English isn’t even our language.”
