The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 23-year-old suspect, Hussaini Usman, popularly known as El-Hussain, in connection with multiple cases of robbery, thuggery, and public disturbance in Minna.

Usman, who hails from Kuta Road, Minna, was caught with a long sharp knife and suspected marijuana. He had allegedly robbed a salesgirl at Ogbomoso Road and was known for harassing residents, snatching phones, and engaging in street fights across Ogbomoso Street, Ungwar-Sarki, and Paida.
“During the investigation, Usman named other members of his gang. Subsequently, nine other suspects were arrested in the early hours of July 12 with dangerous weapons in Ungwar-Sarki and Ogbomoso Street,” Abiodun said.
In a separate operation, the police busted an alleged drug syndicate in Suleja. On July 13, officers from the Suleja Area Command and 12PMF intercepted Elijah Mathew from Sabon-Kaida with two-and-a-half bags of suspected marijuana. Mathew confessed to storing the drugs for a man identified as Moses Obi of Maje, Suleja.
Obi was later apprehended and admitted to owning the marijuana, which he said was supplied by a man named Aminu from Deidei, Abuja, who is currently at large.
