Trump slams WSJ, hits Murdoch with $10bn lawsuit over ‘fake’ Epstein birthday letter story

Donald Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has declared war on the Wall Street Journal, filing a massive $10 billion lawsuit against the paper, its parent company Dow Jones, and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of Florida, follows a WSJ report claiming Trump sent a “bawdy” 50th birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein, complete with a risqué sketch of a naked woman.

Trump, fuming over the allegations, took to Truth Social on Friday, calling the report “false, malicious, defamatory FAKE NEWS” and vowing to hold the “disgraced WSJ and its bosses accountable.”

“We have just filed a POWERHOUSE lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the fake story… Rupert Murdoch, Robert Thomson, and the entire gang are at the top of the list,” Trump wrote.

The Journal claimed it reviewed a typewritten note from Trump that read: “Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.” The letter allegedly included a naked woman’s outline with Trump’s signature drawn over the pubic area like hair.

Trump strongly denied ever writing such a message or making the drawing.

“I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words,” he told the WSJ.

In his fiery post, Trump said the lawsuit seeks “damages, punitive damages, and other relief not less than $10 billion.”

“This lawsuit is filed not just on behalf of your favorite President, ME, but for ALL Americans who will no longer tolerate the abusive wrongdoings of Fake News Media,” he declared.

The WSJ, however, is standing by its report, saying it will “vigorously defend” against the claims.

The bombshell story has reignited scrutiny of Trump’s past ties to Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while facing federal sex trafficking charges.

Trump’s allies have rushed to his defense, with Vice President JD Vance blasting the article as “complete and utter bulls**.”* Donald Trump Jr. added: “In 47 years, I’ve never seen him doodle once. Give me a break.”

Democrats, meanwhile, are seizing on the controversy, demanding transparency on Epstein files that the DOJ says contain no client list. California Gov. Gavin Newsom even posted Trump’s old sketches to mock his denial.

Despite the uproar, Trump insists the report is a hoax and says Murdoch will soon pay a heavy price.

“I hope Rupert and his ‘friends’ enjoy their depositions. We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
