Oleksandr Usyk, the newly crowned two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, expressed gratitude and a desire for rest following his sensational knockout victory over Daniel Dubois on Saturday, at Wembley Stadium.

The Ukrainian boxing maestro, who reclaimed the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF titles, spoke candidly to DAZN after the fight, emphasizing his need for a break after a grueling performance.

“38 is a young guy, remember! 38 is only the start!” Usyk declared, brushing off concerns about his age.

“I want to say thank you to Jesus Christ, my team, and Wembley—thank you so much! It’s for the people.”

The 38-year-old, now 23-0 with 14 knockouts, floored Dubois twice in the fifth round to secure the win, cementing his place among boxing’s elite.

After the intense rematch, Usyk signaled a pause in his storied career. “Nothing is next. It’s enough. I don’t know,” he said.

“I want to rest. My family, my wife, my children—I want to just rest now, two or three months.”

Addressing potential future opponents, Usyk remained noncommittal, mentioning a possible third fight with Tyson Fury, or bouts against Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua, or Joseph Parker.

“I cannot say now because I want to go back home,” he added.

Reflecting on Dubois, the 27-year-old British challenger, Usyk showed sportsmanship. “Bro, I’m sorry, it’s sport. My people wanted this win,” he said.

The victory, witnessed by 90,000 fans and Ukrainian football icon Andriy Shevchenko at ringside, marked Usyk as the first heavyweight since Lennox Lewis in 1999 to hold all four major belts twice in the four-belt era.
