In a heartwarming gesture that blended compassion with community engagement, the Yobe State chapter of the Ajadi Rescue Movement on Sunday, July 20, celebrated the birthday of its Grand Commander, His Excellency Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, at the Yetim Care Foundation Orphanage in Damaturu.
The event, which drew together orphanage children, former students now in universities or serving as civil servants, and members of the movement, was marked by the distribution of care packages and motivational talks aimed at instilling hope and purpose in the lives of the children.
Speaking at the event, Umar Muhammad Shu’aib, the Yobe State Coordinator of the Ajadi Rescue Movement, described Ambassador Ajadi as a visionary leader dedicated to the cause of good governance, youth empowerment, and educational advancement.
“Ambassador Ajadi is not just a political figure; he is a symbol of hope and a promoter of humanity. We are here today to share this moment with these wonderful children and to remind them that with focus and determination, a better life awaits them,” Umar said.
He further emphasized the mission of the Ajadi Rescue Movement as an advocacy initiative for improved standards of living and access to quality education, especially for the underserved and marginalized.
Umar encouraged the students to remain resilient and upright in any environment they find themselves, urging them to live in peace and harmony.
“From all of us in the Ajadi Rescue Movement, we pray that God continues to bless your lives, uplift your status, and protect you from harm. Happy birthday to His Excellency Ambassador Ajadi, and thank you for serving the people of Yobe State selflessly,” Umar concluded.
Also speaking on behalf of the orphanage, the Administrative Officer, Malam Abba Ganami Abba, expressed profound gratitude to Ambassador Ajadi and his team. He noted that the visit was more than just a birthday celebration—it was a show of genuine care for humanity.
“Our doors are always open for Ambassador Ajadi. We are proud of him for remembering us on this special day. May the Almighty fulfil all his noble ambitions,” Abba said.
The event also featured testimonies from former students of the orphanage, now pursuing degree programs and working as civil servants, who praised Ambassador Ajadi for his continued support and commitment to education.
“We are proud of Ambassador Ajadi. Celebrating this day with us proves that he has not forgotten where the journey of change begins—from the grassroots. With him, we see hope for a brighter future,” one of the alumni representatives said.
In an emotional moment, a current Primary 5 pupil, Muhammad Abdullah, delivered a short but powerful message on behalf of the children: “Thank you for having us in mind and for sharing this wonderful day with us. We wish you long life and prosperity, sir.”
At the end of the program, every child in the orphanage received a gift package containing food and bottled water.
Ambassador Ajadi, a philanthropist and the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, has been widely recognized for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes across Nigeria. His Ajadi Rescue Movement continues to gain momentum in several states as a people-focused initiative championing social justice, equity, and development.
