Woman drinks poison, dies inside Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Prayer City

Worshippers at Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway were thrown into confusion on Friday morning after a woman took her life inside the church auditorium.

The deceased, identified as Benita Lurk Ikuenobe, 41, was found lying motionless with an empty bottle of suspected poisonous substance (Sniper) beside her.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who broke the news on X, said the tragedy was reported to the police by the church’s Chief Security Officer, Esiere Ekikere.

Ekikere reached out to the police after receiving a distress call around 7:20 a.m. on Friday.

“On getting there, we saw her unresponsive, with an empty Sniper bottle next to her,” Ekikere told police.

Police operatives later arrived at the scene, took photographs for evidence, and moved the body to the Real Divine Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Efforts are now ongoing to trace those who knew the deceased and uncover what led to the shocking act.
